PC wont boot
I assembled a PC for Christmas and faced an unexpected issue. Initially, I acquired a used R5 1600 and a new ASRock B450 PRO4. I also had some refurbished components from my own upgrades—such as a 750Ti motherboard, a Corsair CU550 PSU, DDR4 3200 2x8 RAM, and an SATA SSD. After opening the CPU case, I noticed bent pins due to being placed upside down. I corrected the alignment several times but still encountered problems.
The PC booted fine with the CPU correctly positioned, yet no display appeared. I tried various RAM configurations—A2, B2, B2, 8-pin, and 24-pin—but nothing worked. I returned the CPU to a used R7 1700 model, which booted successfully afterward.
I replaced the RAM and re-seated the motherboard, but the issue persisted. I reset the CMOS each time; only when removing RAM did I hear three short beeps, followed by a delay and a single short. When I received the 5 long beeps followed by a 1 short, it triggered a 2-second pause before another short. All fans spun properly, indicating the PSU was functional since it had been installed recently.
I suspect the problem might be related to the socket damage.
It seems the problem might be related to the motherboard. If separate CPUs aren’t functioning together, that’s likely the cause. Have you taken any steps to eliminate that possibility?
