Greetings.

I’m requesting assistance with streaming issues. My system specifications are as follows: CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 3900x, GPU – NVIDIA RTX 2070, RAM – 16GB G.Skill Trident Z 3200MHz (8GB x 2), and MOBO – ASUS ROG STRIX X570 GAMING-E WIFI. After following several tutorials on OBS Studio and observing other streamers’ setups, I began streaming primarily games like PUBG and Apex Legends. However, I consistently experience significant encoding delays and dropped frames even when utilizing minimal to moderate settings! Despite adjusting the configuration to leverage NVIDIA’s NVENC technology as suggested in online videos, the problem persists. I require support!

It appears there might be a corruption issue with the OBS files. Consequently, the malware and system file scans previously discussed become even more crucial. You didn’t indicate whether you performed those checks, so I'm simply verifying that information. It could have been a faulty OBS installation, though it’s difficult to determine without investigation.

It’s inefficient to utilize a powerful streaming processor alongside NVENC and strain your graphics card during rendering. Furthermore, what is your upload rate? A minimum of 12 Mbps is required to achieve the maximum 6000 kbps bitrate. It's unreasonable to require low or medium settings with such hardware specifications.

My internet connection offers an upload rate of 50 megabits per second!
Is utilizing the central processing unit for streaming advisable?
This particular difficulty has not been encountered previously.

Begin by running malware scans and verifying your system files are not damaged if the issue recently emerged. Refer to these resources: https://www.malwarebytes.com/premium/, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help...le-checker (and meticulously follow the provided steps). If problems persist, consider any new software you've recently installed and attempt to disable superfluous startup programs. Furthermore, utilizing CPU streaming can be beneficial – it will allocate the graphics card solely for game rendering and is well-suited for streaming. NVENC technology is generally preferable with older Intel processors.

I’ve completely reinstalled OBS Studio, and surprisingly, the frame rate drops and encoder lag have decreased to under 1% in the majority of my games. It's peculiar. Furthermore, I plan to experiment with utilizing the CPU and will report on its performance compared to NVENC! Thank you!

It appears some files may be damaged. Consequently, the malware and system file checks previously discussed become even more crucial. You hadn’t indicated whether you performed these scans, so I wanted to confirm. It's possible this was simply a flawed OBS installation, though it remains uncertain until such issues are investigated.

Please remember to execute the System File Checker (SFC) scan as well, and be sure to copy the command from that linked site for restoring the system image before performing the SFC scan. Additionally, you must utilize Command Prompt with administrator privileges. The SFC tool functions more effectively in Windows 10 than in earlier Windows releases.
