Gaming rig failed to start. The machine initially worked properly but then entered an on-off boot loop. Fans would kick on briefly before shutting off again repeatedly. Eventually, after removing everything except one stick of RAM, it booted into BIOS. This happened after roughly an hour and a half with just one stick of RAM installed, and repeated attempts afterward. Once I reinserted the RAM and powered it back up, all drives functioned normally. I also wiped the drives and reinstalled Windows 10 from a USB drive without issues. Despite these steps, it still wouldn’t start. I tried placing the CPU in a different socket and applying new paste, but nothing changed. I’m considering a power supply issue, though it worked briefly before failing again. The setup includes a Gigabyte GA-Z270P-D3 motherboard, an Intel i5-7600k CPU, a cooler master unit, 16GB DDR4 RAM, and a 600W power supply. All connections are present except the front USB and SATA cables.
create detailed models for every part, including full specifications. also note the power supply age, motherboard current settings in BIOS, whether RAM is 1x 16GB or 2x 8GB (if the latter are both from identical kits), and the configuration of all drives along with their connections such as onboard SATA ports.
PSU is EVGA, they're not sure of the exact model. It seems to be from 3 to 4 years ago. I obtained all this information from someone else, so I'm not entirely certain about the specifics. I've also tested a whole set of 4 x 16 Corsair Trident one by one. I've tried M.2 NVMe onboard and two other SATA HDDs offboard. All components are around 3 to 4 years old.
the whole process is just odd that it functioned long enough to retrieve all the Ram and drives. then format them all and install OS on it and start up for an hour or so. not to mention the numerous reboots needed during setup, yet it still worked. finally, when I brought it back home it ruined the bed.
yes would be graphics from the cpu since i uninstalled everything else. only the power cable is connected to the power supply, and i have reattached the power cables to the motherboard. it doesn't even attempt to reach the bios screen. basically it runs for about 2 or 3 seconds before stopping again. this happens repeatedly.
