Sure, I enjoyed playing GTA V on the PS3 right after its release. Once it launched for PC, I found myself unable to revisit the PS3 version.

Uncharted territory with the last of us vibe. For PS4, no man's sky and everyone gone to rapture all look great.

I understand. I purchased the most affordable PS3 (a 12GB ultra-thin model). It didn’t come with an HDD, so I had to remove one from a netbook and now it’s installed in a basic mount.

You can mix and match features from both systems. Some people like the compact design, fewer cables, and exclusive titles on the PS4, while others focus on the PC’s versatility, fewer wires, and a wider game selection. Personally, I’ve considered getting a PS4 mainly for enjoying MLB The Show and sharing it with my family.

Since you handle most games well on your laptop and there are no complaints about performance, I recommend upgrading to the PS4.

I felt the same way since everyone around me owned consoles while I had just a PC. Now most of them do too. Unless you need many people to play together on that system, I don’t think I should buy a PS4.

It's worth mentioning that the No mans sky isn't limited to the PS4. Personally, unless you're keen on playing only the exclusive titles and are willing to pay around $400 plus a monthly fee for essentially hardware DRM on a few games, I'd prefer a PC. This is especially true as more traditional exclusives move to PC. Another advantage of the PS4 would be having all your friends play there.

For strong local multiplayer, a console offers the best path. You can assemble an SFF rig using a keyboard, touchpad, Xbone controller, and enjoy PC-based local play if supported. This approach is more practical. In short: If you prefer a simple, easy-to-set-up setup with great local gameplay, choose a console. If you crave a deep, customizable gaming experience, opt for a PC.

Playing PC as a PS4 feels quite disappointing when compared to the PS3 experience.
