I recently acquired two Ibuypower PCs, each featuring an i7 processor and a 2060 Super graphics card. One card, manufactured by Gigabyte, exhibits freezing issues during gameplay, persistent operation even after sleep mode, and sporadic crashes. Conversely, the MSI-branded card functions flawlessly. After launching a game's launcher and exiting, a close program notification appeared, clicked, and then the screen abruptly went black with no power. The system is now completely unresponsive upon startup, despite hearing a single click during power-on. I have researched online forums without finding a resolution. Could the new graphics card be damaged?
That’s probably not the GPU. With a prebuild it’d be best to make sure everything’s plugged in correctly and the PSU is ok. Did it have any plastic covering components when you first got it? How do you know the PC is still running? Some lights do stay on even when powered down. This is generally why building your own is better. Not only is it cheaper but you know what’s gone in and it’s easier to see what’s gone wrong.
The computer’s power supply unit may be failing, causing a clicking sound without full functionality. Software glitches could potentially trigger hardware issues within the PSU or other components. A faulty PSU can lead to unpredictable behavior and potential damage. It is advisable to seek professional diagnosis and repair for electrical equipment malfunctions. Future computer builds should be approached with careful planning and thorough testing.
