I've only ever purchased a 360 to enjoy Halo Reach (it's likely my top favorite title). Now picture Reach or any Halo experience on a ROG Swift or an Ultrawide display...

They won't lose money since many parents will still purchase consoles for their children, possibly due to limited PC knowledge and a desire for more affordable options. If Microsoft promotes PC compatibility across their servers, PC enthusiasts can join in, aligning with their Windows 10 vision for a unified experience.

That sounds like a good plan. I wish I could join in with my friends. I often feel left out because I spend most of my time playing CS:GO.

I question Microsoft's intentions right away... even if they acted, they’d likely try to harm the outcome like purchasing Xbox Live.

I understand your point. Colleagues at work encourage me to play online, but when I mention having the game for PC, they suggest buying a PS4 or Xbox. I don’t want to invest over $500 for just one game a few hours a week when I already have hundreds of games on my PC. I’m not saying they won’t, but it would be better that way. Microsoft seems to know what people want yet refuses to listen.

I'm imagining the stream being directed to Windows. Halo should return on PC, and Phil Spencer appears to be steering Xbox and Microsoft toward that path. Still, we must witness real action beyond statements. Is there a reason people believe Xbox sales would vanish if PC gaming was supported with all its titles? Consoles cater to a "zero" maintenance market, and their users probably won't engage in PC gaming for that reason. Consoles serve a distinct role in gaming compared to PCs, which means they'll always have value.

If exclusive titles weren't lucrative for Microsoft, they wouldn't exist. Yet they do, which shows Microsoft is generating revenue from a poorly crafted console, regardless of complaints. I gave up my Xbone and won't purchase any Microsoft games unless they move to PC (and I’m hoping they will). Consoles still have value for those who can't or won’t afford a full PC, even with their flaws—still about 20 times easier than keeping a computer running. On the subject, as others mentioned, it seems Xbone was likely the reason for streaming to Win10.
