I upgraded my PC by installing a new CPU, cooler, and case. After reassembling everything, my motherboard lit up the red CPU indicator. When I reinserted the old CPU, it still worked. Later, a friend helped me troubleshoot. The red light came back normally for a short time, but after about five minutes I noticed burning plastic and felt the RAM getting very hot. I think the RAM might be the issue, though I’m not sure if I need to replace the motherboard or just the RAM. The other parts seemed fine and weren’t overheating.

It appears there may be compatibility issues between specific Ryzens and certain Corsair RAM models. I suggest reviewing the board's QVL list prior to purchasing replacement RAM.
