The 5700 seems set to be more future-ready than a 2060 model, at least if we're talking about long-term value. My own trials have leaned toward AMD GPUs instead of NVIDIA. That doesn’t stop me from suggesting the 1650 for the $150 range or the 2080 for the $700 range. The 5700 is clearly the top choice you can find for around $300. I’d definitely skip the 2060 super, which is $100 pricier and doesn’t offer much extra performance.
It's all about getting the best bang for your buck. A top-tier GPU might still work in a few years, but it won't be as cutting-edge then. If you spent $1,000 on a Titan back in 2013, by 2016 a 1060 priced at $300 would offer similar performance. The RX5700 provides solid value and is currently a great balance.
You're correct. However, the specifications show that the RTX 2070 Super is actually faster than the RX 5700.
He mentioned you have $200, but can't buy an RTX 2070 super. I'd suggest saving a bit more before upgrading everything.
