I want to start by saying I’m running out of ideas.
In early January this year, I switched to the am5 platform, and it quickly turned into a real challenge.
Nine months on, my computer keeps shutting down unexpectedly—sometimes in just a few days, other times after months.
There’s no blue screen, no stuttering or lag, and nothing appears in the event viewer that I’ve seen.
I changed the power supply, tried a different outlet, but the problem persists.
They told me at the repair shop they fixed it, but I was charged £150 for no actual service.
This is my final effort before selling the components and buying a prebuilt unit.
Details:
Temperatures when – Idle 39-45°C, Browsing 45-50°C, Stress Test 75-79°C
Hardware: Ryzen 9 7900X, Asus X670-P, Corsair Vengeance 16gb x2, Gigabyte P1000GM, Asus RTX 3070, Windows 11 Pro

the temperatures you're reaching aren't specified here.
max temps are noted for idle, basic browsing, and taxing tasks like gaming, stress testing, or heavy processing.
these supplies are intended for basic lower-end builds only.
what model and make were you using prior to installing this?

Temperatures were recorded, and before upgrading to AM5 I had an Evga 750w bronze 80+ PSU. The exact model isn't clear to me.

Have you checked if the BIOS has been updated? Your RAM is XMP or EXPO, but using XMP in a Ryzen 7000 build caused problems. Switching to EXPO resolved the issues.

I haven’t attempted updating the BIOS due to concerns it might fail during the process, and my RAM is XMP. I plan to switch to Expo in the morning since my computer is currently refusing to power on.

The 79° max temperature isn't harmful or likely to trigger system problems.
That should be acceptable.
The model is quite significant.
Most PSU makers have released at least a few budget-friendly options.
You mentioned you've already swapped the PSU because of this problem you're experiencing.
If this Gigabyte power supply is the only one this system has encountered during the issue, I'd consider it a strong possibility.

As long as power isn't lost during a BIOS update, the system shouldn't crash right in the middle of the process. However, my XMP problems began when I tried to install a BIOS version that was later than what came with my motherboard. I posted about these issues, and they disappeared after I got a faster EXPO kit. https://forums.

If the PSU is the problem, I’d suggest looking into several options and choosing one that fits your needs. There are many available, but I’m not sure what you’re looking for.

include a budget range,
necessary wattage,
and your location and/or what sites you would be purchasing from.
