I've been experiencing lower FPS in certain games despite a strong GPU, and my CPU seems to be the bottleneck. I'm looking into upgrading and want to know if that would improve things.

Good FPS means smooth gameplay with high performance. Define it by games, resolution, and settings. Check your graphics card drivers and CPU drivers for optimal performance. Use Windows version that matches your hardware. Monitor GPU temperatures and clock speeds to ensure stability. Refer to HWInfo for detailed specs.

Performance is dropping to around half the FPS or less compared to reference videos I normally watch for the 3060. This makes me wonder if it's underperforming and also due to high GPU usage. I play Fortnite, GTA, Roblox, CS:GO, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Running at 1080p with maximum settings or medium on Windows 10 using the latest 3060 drivers and chipset drivers. CPU speed: 76C, GPU: 62C, clock speed: 3.6 GHz.

The FPS varies across games when using high settings. Each title may offer different performance metrics depending on its optimization and hardware.

GTA Story mode averages around 110, while GTA Online sits in the 60-80 range. Fortnite generally stays above 80 with high direct x11 settings, and Spiderman performance is roughly similar. It seems the FPS tends to stay consistent across different settings. I wonder if the CPU is limiting the GPU performance. I've seen some YouTube clips showing higher FPS and better overall performance.

FPS looks extremely accurate at high settings. The GPU’s anti-aliasing works well, especially in GTA, giving me about double the frames.
