Recently I purchased a 32GB kit of G.Skillz RAM advertised for speeds up to 3600Mhz; I attempted overclocking it in BIOS using XMP at 3600Mhz, but after saving the settings it would turn on and off several times before settling around 2000Mhz. I maintain a voltage of 1.35V and use an ASRock B450m Steel Legend. Any suggestions?

initial mainboards faced problems with ram compatibility because it was a new platform and the wrong ram topology was chosen. This issue was resolved in the 400 series chipset, except for some exceptions such as the x470.

AMD Ryzen models accommodate DDR4 variants ranging from 3200 to 2133 MHz, including both ECC and non-ECC configurations, with un-buffered memory options.

I don’t understand this situation well, how can I figure out which category my project belongs to? I’m just starting with PC builds.

I figured it out by checking what they were before you asked.

It seems you're asking about the best AMD CPU for running OC 3600MHz RAM. You haven't specified a particular model, so I'll provide general guidance on what to look for in an AMD processor that would handle such high clock speeds effectively.

Please revise your post to add complete details about the system's hardware specifications and operating system. Also, provide the power supply information: make, model, wattage, age, and condition (new, refurbished, used). Let me know if you need help with that.
