I never attempted to shrink the partition size on a stick; I simply removed it since Explorer's file placement during copying can affect whether you can reduce it sufficiently for a Linux system with persistent files. The persistent file is crucial if you intend to install an antivirus there. I recommend first deleting the existing partition, which will erase all contents completely.
