Hi, my computer won’t start. I’ve tried a few troubleshooting steps but nothing works. I’ve had this machine for about a year without any problems until now. I just returned from work and discovered this problem.

Details: When powering on, the CPU indicator flashes briefly (on the motherboard EZDebug LEDs) for half a second, then the DRAM light activates and stays lit until the system restarts every few minutes repeatedly. There’s no monitor output, and I can’t access the BIOS.

I’ve swapped out the motherboard already, and after replacing the RAM sticks it’s still the same. I also tried updating the BIOS, but the system powers on and then shuts off quickly—lights stay on but there’s no post.

There are no bent pins on the CPU (it’s a Ryzen AM5 model so flat) and the problem continues whether the GPU is installed or not.

I’m hoping someone can suggest other solutions before replacing the CPU. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

AMD RX 7800XT
Ryzen 5800X
32Gb Corsair Vengeance RAM DDR5
650W CoolerMaster PSU
Aorus B650 Elite AX
Like I said. System has worked fine for a long time, just decided this is an issue now

Additionally, another point to note—when I power on the PC and press the flash BIOS button, the CPU indicator changed from the DRAM one to something else, but no issues appear.

These components do not work together.
With a 5800X, there is no integrated GPU, so without a separate graphics card it won't function.

Yeah. But the cpu and motherboard you mentioned don't match. It seems one is incorrect or the other is wrong. Also, with a Ryzen 7 5800X and no dedicated graphics card, it won't start (as you mentioned trying without a GPU installed).
