My setup includes an R7 5800X, Noctua NH-D15S, Gigabyte Auros B550 Elite AX V2, 16GB DDR4 RAM, XFX RX 6800XT MERC 319, Corsair RMx White Series RM850x, a 512GB Gen4 SSD from Aorus, a 2TB SATA SSD, a 1x 2TB WD HDD, four case fans, a Phanteks Eclipse P600S Silent, and a Xiaomi Mi Curved Gaming Monitor. I also have a 1x 16GB Gen4 SSD from Aorus. When playing Far Cry 6, Cyberpunk or Sea of Thieves, my PC frequently shuts down abruptly, screen goes black instantly, and only the RGB lighting remains active. Restarting requires turning off and on the power supply, after which it restarts normally. This issue usually occurs after about 30 minutes to several hours of gaming. I haven’t experienced this with other games. I’ve enabled XMP but not overclocked anything except for that. I’ve also tried disabling XMP and ensured all drivers and BIOS are up to date. Previously, the problem started when I changed my GPU to a 580 model from a friend, then updated the BIOS, which resolved it. Now I still need to toggle the PSU on and off to get the system running again.
I'm not the most clever with these kinds of issues, but I suggest clearing out any dust from your PC. It could be causing overheating.
Considered using stable graphics APIs like DX11 instead of Vulkan; some issues may arise over time. Seems this relates to power management or driver problems. Have you tried adjusting the GPU's maximum power limit or checked DDU settings? Raising the power allowance can help with demanding games.
System stops happen because of instability. RAM should be at least double the amount in your graphics card.
These games only work with DX12 at the moment. I've tried DDU and reinstalled drivers, but I'm unsure how to limit the GPU's power settings. XFX doesn't offer a fan/power adjustment feature either.
