Hey, I’m dealing with some issues on my motherboard and drives. It’s tough to pinpoint exactly which part is causing the trouble. When I power off the computer—either through Windows or because of a power cut—I often can’t get back into the operating system. Usually it works fine, but most of the time I encounter a BSOD with code 0xC000000D, meaning a required device isn’t connected or reachable. This problem hasn’t occurred after I’ve restarted the system either via the OS menu or using the reset button. After the BSOD, when I reach UEFI, no drives appear in the board explorer. There are no M.2 drives or SATA connections visible. To fix this, I just restart the PC repeatedly—sometimes just a few times, other times it takes many resets, like hitting the reset button ten times before it powers on. It doesn’t matter if I turn it off from the wall, wait a moment, or press the reset button; the drives seem to appear randomly. I haven’t upgraded my PC recently, and I usually didn’t turn it off often. Despite this, I’ve had the issue for a long time without noticing. Now I’m trying to resolve it, if possible. There are no other problems with the system once it starts. What might be going wrong? Here’s what I have: CPU – Ryzen 3900X (no overclocking), Motherboard – MSI X570 Gaming Edge WiFi (MS-7C37) with BIOS 2x GoodRam IRDM Pro IRP3600D4V64L17/16G in slots 2 & 4, GPU – NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, SSD – Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 500GB (M.2_1), plus two SanDisk X600 500GB RAID0 drives, Power Supply – SilentiumPC Supremo FM2 Gold 650W. Operating system – Windows 10 Pro 21H2.
I owned four GoodRam sticks in an older PC (DDR2) and everything functioned properly, so I considered switching to DDR4. They’re inexpensive and come with a lifetime warranty. Also, they aren’t generic brands—at least from my viewpoint (Polish brand... coincidence?). It was close enough. However, instead of reverting to the default settings (only one option actually), I disabled SR-IOV support. I turned it back on for some tests but didn’t bother once I realized I wasn’t using it. After that, my PC started working fine; drives were detected immediately. Perhaps there was a compatibility issue with the hardware.
