PC stops working when I try to do multiple tasks while gaming.
Hey there, friends. I think I'm facing a hiccup with my PC—every time I switch to a game, it crashes right away. So far, everything works just fine when I’m browsing, typing, or streaming. The problem pops up only during gaming sessions. Here’s what I’ve noticed:
1) When I play Project Zomboid, the screen goes all blurry and then the PC powers off instantly.
2) In Elder Scrolls Online, most sessions are smooth, but when I minimize the game, it shuts down too.
I’m new to this setup. My PC is running solidly under normal tasks. I’ve got working USB ports, audio/microphone inputs, and the system recognizes my CPU, RAM, and graphics card during diagnostics. I’m using Windows 11, but I’m not sure if that’s the cause.
I’m trying to reproduce these issues to see if fixing them will help. I’ve already shared some details and attached a DxDiag report (DxDiag.txt), plus a Logging test from HWiNFO64. My CPU temps stay below 39-42°C, and the 'Generic Logviewer' makes the data clearer.
Here’s what I have listed for reference:
- PC Specifications: [PC Part Builder List]
- Power Supply: [Corsair 1050W]
- Mobo: [B05G9M4M0]
- CPU: [B0BCDR9M33]
- RAM: [B0B15DST2L]
- Graphics: [B08RK2SR23]
- Case: [B099X7C238]
Thanks for your help! This has been a bit of a puzzle. Let me know if you need anything else.
The problem stemmed from improper SATA cable installation. The cables were bent too sharply, causing connection issues. Additionally, an outdated PSU with low efficiency contributed to the issue. Replacing it with a modern 1000-watt unit resolved the matter.
Have you checked if the BIOS on your motherboard has been updated? Around three weeks back, Gigabyte released a patch to enhance resizeable bar links and add other features. It’s always a good idea.
