Hi, here are the details about your partner's PC:
The specs are shown in the link provided.
Temperatures are high but not excessively so.
The system works well around 90% of the time.
She uses it for gaming, photo editing, video, and browsing.
Benchmarks show the 1080 stays under 75 max, usually between 61 to 65 during use.
CPU temperatures look normal without big spikes.
Occasionally it shuts down completely, sometimes while idle or playing.
No warnings appear in event logs; sometimes it starts up loudly with fans blowing, which seems like a sign it will stop soon.
This happens mainly during startup after being left on overnight.
I don’t notice overheating during starts or regular use.

Do you have any suggestions? I can’t afford to take it to a repair shop yet.
I’m considering replacing the power supply unit, but haven’t done that yet.

include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Usually these signs are connected to power issues.

Inspected the PSU recently—it's a quiet Pure Power 11 600w unit. Should I purchase a new one to resolve any issues? I've enabled auto-XMP now and plan to test the PC, since I've heard some crashes occur with XMP profiles but haven't confirmed it myself.
