PC startup issues, there's always the chance of unexpected shutdown ?
I am facing difficulties with my PC's startup. When I power it on, sometimes it functions normally, but other times, after a brief inactivity period, I lose access and return to it being off. Even when I log in immediately after a few minutes, it may freeze and shut down abruptly or simply stop without any freezing. I suspect the issue could be related to faulty RAM sticks or the power supply, though when it powers off during startup, I need to physically replace the RAM to get it back on. This process still risks the same problems, such as restarting repeatedly or encountering freeze-ups and shutdowns. Occasionally it works perfectly, but I have no idea what might be causing these inconsistencies. I attempted to resolve potential hardware issues by downgrading from Windows 11 to Windows 10, yet the problem persists, leading me to believe it is likely a hardware-related concern. All my drivers are up to date, and I can keep the system running for days without turning it off, which helps me avoid the issue. It’s unusual that it behaves differently at startup versus during extended use, so this could be useful information. If anyone can assist with my situation, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer! Or maybe the power supply? If you suspect it's the PSU, consider getting a well-built PSU with a bit more capacity than your system requires and try it out. If the problem disappears, then the issue lies with your PSU.
PSU: NZXT S650
This model is a rebranded Seasonic PSU. I even lowered my Windows 11 to Windows 10 to check if that resolved any software-related problems, but the issue keeps occurring after clean resets. Where did you obtain the installer for your operating system?
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Hero [Evangelion Edition]
BIOS version for your motherboard?
CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB [4800MHz] [2 x 16GB] [DDR5]
Do you have a link to this RAM kit? You should have purchased a dual-channel RAM package with at least 6000MHz and proper timings.
