PC starts right back when you sleep
Hi everyone. Basically, I just bought a new motherboard and processor, tweaked some settings in my BIOS (like RAM speed and fast boot), and now I'm trying to sleep but the PC wakes up right away when I turn it off. I turned off "allow this computer to wake" for my mouse, keyboard, and network card in Device Manager. I also ran a command called powercfg -lastwake and got these results: Wake History Count is 1, Wake History shows [0], and Wake Source Count is 0. Any help would be super cool because this is really annoying. Update: I tried shutting down too, but it does the exact same thing again.
Go back and fix up your BIOS settings just like that might help. If you had any fancy options set, just take a note of them because losing those will wipe out the changes.
Hey @shmuel1614, please update your post with the full system hardware specs and OS info. Tell me about the PSU: what brand it is, which model, its wattage, when it was made, and how good or worn out it looks (brand new, used, refurbished, or still working?). Also ask about the disk drive(s): make, model, total storage capacity, and how much space is left. Finally, check if you have power plans showing up on your Control Panel.
I changed my BIOS settings, reset everything back to normal, and then made small tweaks to fix the issue. I'm not sure if those changes worked or not, even though they did solve it for now. I just didn't click the "mark as solved" button on this post yet.
