I previously assembled my brother's PC and planned an upgrade. He upgraded with an AIO 280 2 fan cooler and a Ryzen 9 5900X, while his previous CPU was a Ryzen 5 3600X with a 2070super. The AIO was too large for the case, so we opted for a mid-tower setup and installed everything inside. The PC would power on with lights but had an issue with the VGA light remaining stuck and not entering BIOS or Windows.
Current configuration:
Ryzen 9 5900x
Gigabyte 2070super Windforce
32GB 4x Vengeance RAM
650W Gold Powersupply Corsair
I've tried:
Inspecting all PSU connectors and their ends (GPU, CPU, motherboard, etc., all verified and secured)
Reinstalling the GPU
Replacing all RAM sticks across different slots (even tested one at a time per slot)
Reinstalling CPU and AIO cooler
Plans for tomorrow:
Swapping to the old CPU
Testing a different GPU
I hope you can offer some advice if you have the chance.
Sorry I was just being silly, I swapped in an older CPU and did a BIOS update, and it worked. I assumed it would boot at least into BIOS with the new one, so I plan to do the update next. mb
