Rockstar has extended the release date to March 24th and released PC compatibility details for the upcoming game. The initial screenshots are now available on their website. Required system specifications include Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit SP1, or Windows Vista 64 Bit SP2 (NVIDIA graphics card recommended). The processor options are either an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 at 2.40GHz with four cores or an AMD Phenom 9850 quad-core at 2.5GHz. Memory needs are 4GB, and the video card must be either a NVIDIA 9800 GT (1GB) or AMD HD 4870 (1GB). The sound card should support DirectX 10. Storage should accommodate up to 65GB. A surprising note: the Q6600 and 9800GT are quite powerful for GTA IV, which might indicate strong optimization efforts. The delay suggests a focus on fixing issues rather than releasing a broken version.

Since many users continue to rely on Windows Vista and XP, along with those running a 32-bit OS, it's clear these systems aren't universally supported.
