PC slows down occasionally
My laptop experiences slowdowns at specific times while running software, otherwise it operates smoothly. It comes with these specifications:
Core i5 6300U 2.40Ghz
16GB RAM
Intel HD 520 GPU
I have also verified for errors in CPU, GPU, RAM and temperature/cooling issues, but everything appears normal (temperatures are not close to dangerous levels).
Nevertheless, it slows down during:
Scrolling in Google Chrome while watching football matches for a particular team on Google (turning on/off smooth scrolling didn't resolve the issue)
Moving the camera in Battlefield 3 (FPS and frame time remain stable)
Additionally, when making changes to the database using an SQLite browser, it occasionally stalls accompanied by a whirring sound from the HDD or fan.
what processes are active on the hdd? was virtual memory enabled for the hdd?
My software is stored on the SSD (C Drive), whereas games are on HDD partitions. I believe there isn't a VM running on the HDD because only the C Drive (which is in the SSD) shows that the Paging File Size is managed by the system, and all other partitions don't have a VM. The currently allocated file size is 2432 MB.
Take out the HDD to determine if that is the cause of the problem
Sure, I'll do my best. Please let me know if you'd like me to mention any additional points or solutions. Thank you ahead of time!
