Today my computer began slowing down right after downloading something, even after I removed the file. The issue persists in Task Manager, so it’s still affecting performance. Please let me know how you’d like to proceed.

Windows Defender usually functions properly, but it might not have spotted the threat at startup. Since Real-Time protection is typically active by default, adding a second solution like MalwareBytes could be beneficial.
