Helping a friend who’s having trouble. He’s been losing internet only on his computer, while all other devices work fine. His machine randomly freezes, but he can press the start button and everything runs smoothly except for the frozen apps.
He has an Intel i9-10900k, a ROG Strix Z490-Egaming, a Radeon 9700xt, Windows 11, RAM CL18-22-22 D4 3600 OLOy, PSU-theramaltake 850g, and an AIO Corsair 360 h150i.
I don’t know much, but I’m sure it’s a RAM timing or thermal paste problem. Maybe a new RAM would help.
He’s willing to spend anything to fix it. Thanks for your help.

he has been experiencing random internet loss only on his computer, while other devices remain connected.
it's unclear if the connectivity problems affected Ethernet or WiFi connections. Have you attempted to remove and reinstall the drivers for your network adapter?
rog strix z490-egaming
what bios version is installed on your motherboard?
the power supply unit is a thermaltake 850g model.
thermaltake refers to the brand, whereas 850w indicates the power rating of the unit. i'm assuming the 'g' stands for 80+ efficiency, which corresponds to gold, but could this be the model number of the psu? additionally, how old is the psu?

Hi,
The "g" in the 850 was a mistake and should have been a "w" for wattage. It's an 850w 80+g gold smart zero 256. The power supply was purchased in 2020. I'm contacting him now, but he hasn't updated his bios. I'll begin there, which is where I expected, but I thought it was obvious. That's on me.

Assisting a friend with a problem. He’s experiencing internet issues specifically on his computer, while all other devices remain connected. His PC occasionally freezes randomly, but when he tries to open Windows, everything runs smoothly. The system uses an Intel i9-10900k, ROG Strix z490-E gaming, Radeon 9700xt, Windows 11, RAM Cl18-22-22 D4 3600 OLOy, and a PSU from Thermaltake 850w 80+ gold. He’s using Corsair AIO 360 H150i. The RAM he has is brand new, but the fact it’s an “off” brand could be the cause, or his settings might be incorrect. This complete loss of internet connection to just his PC is very unusual for me. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Perhaps a BIOS update is needed? Thank you.

I believed I didn't include the right numbers on the first one because it received very few responses.
Sorry

Is a malware scan performed on the system? How much space is occupied by the SSD? Were memory tests conducted? How many tabs are currently open?
