In recent weeks my computer has experienced sudden Wi-Fi drops. While playing games or chatting in Discord, my connection to the network becomes unstable, often spiking to 5000ms before I disconnect. Once it stabilizes, I can still hear my friends and send messages, but they can’t pick up my voice. This issue also occurs when I’m not using Discord, such as during online gaming or watching videos. All other devices in the house, including my phone and laptop, remain connected properly. I’ve tried various solutions: updated network troubleshooting steps, switched Wi-Fi cards (TP-Link Archer 6E, Archer 3u, a random dongle), used a Wi-Fi extender nearby, and even replaced my ISP equipment. The modem and router are on the 2.4GHz band, which is far from my location. I’m currently getting about 30mbps on Wi-Fi and around 50mbps via Ethernet to a booster. My PC typically reaches ~200mbps near the PC when connected directly. The speed drops significantly when using a wireless adapter or router. Running an Ethernet cable isn’t feasible due to distance from the router. This problem started roughly a year ago after a move, coinciding with similar issues. If you have any suggestions, it would be helpful!

5GHz offers stability and speed. 2.4GHz prioritizes range but lacks consistency because the frequency space is busy.
