PC setup: Intel Core i5 8400 (Windows 11) ASRock Z370m Pro4 (latest BIOS possible) AMD RX 480 8GB (Sapphire, latest driver) GSkill 2400MHz 8x2 GB Thermaltek 530W 80 Bronze PSU. The issue is that during gameplay the PC suddenly crashes. The screen freezes and static appears. The speaker emits a persistent static sound like "Krrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr". I can't continue until I restart by pressing the power button. Previously, with a 6th gen i5, there were no problems. Now I'm unsure if the GPU or the driver is responsible. I updated the BIOS but didn’t succeed. Last month I played COD MW remastered without issues. Other AAA games worked fine until Valorant for my brother crashed. Then it crashed during Far Cry 4 and Primal too. After resetting BIOS, clearing CMOS, those crashes stopped temporarily. But some other titles like Sniper Elite III, Tomb Raider, etc., still crash now. I remember Shadow of the Tomb Raider benchmarks crashing before reset, but after, they didn’t. Now several games are failing. I’m confused about what might be causing this. Do you think it’s an AMD driver problem? Or Windows 11? Or maybe the PSU isn’t delivering enough power? This shouldn’t be the case, though. I suspect the GPU might be involved, but I’m not sure how to fix it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Is it possible your CPU is hitting its maximum capacity? This kind of problem usually appears when the processor reaches full utilization.

It looks like PSU might be the issue—possibly outdated or underpowered. Windows 11 could work, but I recommend checking the PSU first. A 600W Corsair unit is a solid choice and won’t break the bank.

The anti-cheat tools for Valorant might be affecting your system, especially after an installation. Consider deleting them to see if the problem persists.

It’s understandable to worry about performance. Many players prefer a gradual slowdown rather than a sudden crash, especially when the game is running at full CPU power. That thought came up after reading *Valorant*, but it’s definitely something to consider.

I was tracking the stats through Afterburner. The GPU was running at full capacity, CPU usage averaged about 60%, and temperatures were near 80°C on the GPU and around 70°C on the CPU.

It's an older PSU (bought in 2016), correct. It worked fine up until now, so I didn’t consider switching it.

Sure, I get it could be related to Valorant anti-cheat. Let's go with that first—always pick the free option. Make sure to uninstall both the game and the anti-cheat software. Check for any tutorials, and if needed, try updating or reinstalling the drivers.

I plan to remove it first. At first, Valorant would freeze after a short time in the game. Now I can play for a bit without problems, though it still freezes occasionally.

it feels too hot for your processor or graphics card again. i'm not a specialist, but after updating the thermal paste on my cpu and adjusting the fans, it still reaches its maximum temperature even when the system is idle.
