Good evening everyone,
I'm reaching out for advice on what seems to be the issue with my computer and how I might resolve it.
A few weeks ago, my PC started crashing whenever I tried to play Horizon: Zero Dawn, a game I recently purchased. There haven't been any hardware upgrades or significant software changes—just regular Windows updates and new Nvidia drivers.
I reviewed my Event Log and noticed numerous errors each time I used the computer, some of which went back to when it was functioning well.
I've also experienced problems with other games and occasionally while browsing online. Generally, the computer would freeze (audio sometimes playing for a short time) before restarting itself.
Here are some minidmps I've tried:
https://files.catbox.moe/tesfx4.zip
I've looked into various fixes people have shared online, such as:
- Updating graphics card drivers
- Reverting to older drivers
- Updating motherboard BIOS
- Upgrading to Windows 11
- Limiting GPU power with MSI Afterburner
- Removing a duplicate of Microsoft Game Input
I'm sure there are other solutions I haven't tried, but these have been my attempts so far.
Occasionally, I can play games or run the computer for hours without trouble, but sometimes I can only manage 15 minutes before a crash occurs.
If anyone can help clarify what's going on, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Initially, could you provide the complete system specifications? Many times these problems are linked to heat or power delivery. However, reviewing the system details will be a helpful starting point for offering the most effective assistance.

Have you looked at temperatures with tools such as Ryzen Master or HWMonitor? What cooler are you using for the CPU, and how is the fan setup in the case? The components don’t seem like anything obvious, so if it’s just shutting down I’d probably think about a heating problem. Although power supply and other factors can be involved, I’d begin there and check what others have found.

Good Evening Ohio,
Thank you for your ongoing support and assistance.
I reviewed the temperatures around a week ago and they weren't unusually high. My CPU cooler is a Dark Rock 4 and the case is a BeQuiet Dark Base 900.
I removed Avast Antivirus last night and experienced roughly three hours of crash-free gameplay on a couple of titles. I'm not sure this resolved the problem, as I've had similar issues before despite using it for a long time. I thought I'd give it another try after someone recommended it.
I'm still unsure if this fixed the matter, since over the past weeks I've had occasional periods where the system seemed to function normally.
I'll monitor the situation closely in the coming days. If it continues to run smoothly for about a week, I'll return here to confirm the issue is resolved for future reference.

Make sure to keep an eye on it. I previously used Avast, which is a good program, but Windows Defender has improved and I usually find it functions well without bothers me.
