Check your recent message carefully. My machine stopped working suddenly while using it (screen turned black then nothing). It ran lightly at first. When I power it on: - RGB lights up on the motherboard - CPU fan runs normally - No display (using 1080 TI port) - No USB, mouse and keyboard don’t light - Case fans spin a bit then stop (EDIT: they resumed after clearing CMOS, likely due to custom fan settings) - No beep sound (EDIT: no speaker on the board) - GPU RGB is active and fans are running. Here are the details: - Intel 9700K CPU - Corsair RM750x - ASUS Prime Z390-A - Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3000MHz - MSI 1080 TI I’ve tested the power supply (by shorting PS-ON): voltages are normal. Any other steps you could try? I don’t have another compatible board/CPU/RAM to test.

Start by taking out the GPU and testing with the built-in video. If that fails, reset the CMOS. If problems persist, swap one RAM stick to another slot, and if that doesn’t help, try the opposite stick.

You attempted several adjustments: removed the GPU, used the built-in screen, shorted a RAM pin and removed the battery—case fans started spinning at startup. Then tried single memory sticks or none, but results remained unchanged. No audible beep detected, possibly due to custom UEFI settings. Disconnected USB devices and SSDs, which didn’t help.

There is indeed 4 small LEDs near power connector but all of them are off. Here is what manual says : So I guess no Q LED = everything is fine ? The only LED which is on is PWR_LED (green). Mem_LED is off (which according manual is expected). It's near a switch named MemOK!_II (which is ON, that's the default value) There is an overview of motherboard LEDs at page 18 of manual . EDIT : I tried to plugin USB mouse and keyboard into my rescue laptop (that I'm using now) : they both light up and work correctly. I thought that one of them might have died and fried USB ports. I also tried every other USB port on PC case : none of them seems to have power.

I attempted the following: unplugged everything except the PSU, CPU/heatsink, and Q LED (which shouldn't show up), along with case switches and LEDs. Motherboard appears to be dead. It has lasted four years—long enough for the warranty to end.

It seems like the mainboard is in bad shape. Unfortunately, this does happen sometimes.

I purchased a refurbished motherboard due to the scarcity of new ones. It continues to malfunction. The process is as follows: the board powers on and then shuts down rapidly, within half a second. In summary: - The outdated board remains active (fans spinning, LEDs illuminated) but no functional output. No video or QLED display. This behavior repeats with a completely bare board (no CPU). - The newer board starts up and then halts, even when the CPU is present. I verified the motherboard connections using a multimeter—no ground-to-pin shorts detected. - The power supply appears intact. It powers on (fan runs slowly) with the old board. Manual testing by shorting the power-on pin confirmed all voltages are normal. Two potential explanations: 1) The used board was defective despite being sourced from a trustworthy seller. I purchased it from someone reputable, but uncertainty remains. 2) The power supply failed simultaneously with the motherboard. Alternatively, the reverse could be true. What puzzles me is why the new board fails to boot completely (unlike the old one). I considered inspecting the PSU externally, suspecting a failure, but it's still under a 10-year warranty, so that was dismissed.
