Hello, I hope you can provide some solutions. My PC frequently restarts during gameplay with the BSOD warning "Whea_Uncorrectable_Error" in titles such as Elden Ring, Warzone, and Risk of Rain 2. When I run other applications or tasks, it doesn’t restart even after hours of use.

I’ve updated my BIOS, drivers, and cleaned the interior of my computer. Over a year now gaming with this system, I initially suspected an overheating problem but my temperatures remain normal.

Current specs:
MBD: ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi)
CPU: Ryzen 9 3950X (Kraken360AIO)
GPU: ASUS ROG STRIX 3080Ti
RAM: G-Skill 32GB 3600
PSU: Seasonic PRIME TX-850

Hey there,
You seem to have switched to a different PSU without much thought. That wasn’t my first choice, but I understand why. What operating system are you using on the motherboard? If it’s not current, you might be facing a recognized issue with RTX 3080ti models and certain older BIOS versions. While @faalin has valid points about replacing it, you could try updating the PSU first and then reset the CMOS. Wait before installing the new PSU until you’ve checked all possible solutions. If you decide to return it, you might be eligible for a refund.

Are your system drivers and chipset firmware up to date? Have you used DDU to remove and reinstall the GPU driver to rule out driver problems? Those Seasonic models tend to have lower OCP protection settings, which can sometimes cause temporary spikes.

Hi, thank you for your message. Even after updating everything to the latest drivers, the problem continues. I changed the CMOS battery first, but after that it still happens after a short while of playing recent games, causing the PC to restart.

Adjusting the battery isn't equivalent to resetting CMOS. You might need to connect two pins on your motherboard. Also, ensuring your BIOS is current is important. Which version are you using? You can verify this using CPU-z on the mainboard section.

Hey, cleared the CMOS and the version is 4805 which is the one that is currently up to date with the ASUS website. The issue still remains the same. Unfortunately also thank you for your replies I really appreciate it.

Maybe the updated PSU could resolve the problem.
Tell us what happens next.

It looks like the PSU was the problem. I chose a 1000W power supply and everything is working fine without needing a restart. Thanks again for your reply—I really appreciate it!

Hey! The problem was actually with the PSU. Since switching it, there have been no restarts while playing, so my issue is fixed. Thanks again for your responses!
