Hello everyone, this is my first time here. The main concern is that my PC keeps getting too hot even when the CPU isn’t under heavy load. I’ve updated the BIOS, cleaned the system as much as possible, replaced the cooler, and applied fresh thermal paste. I’m not sure what else to try, so any advice you can give would be really helpful. I’ve included a screenshot of the temperature situation while I write this. The problem seems unrelated to the GPU, which is currently around 34°C.
PC specs: Windows 10, NZXT H1 v1 case, 650W 80+ Gold PSU, 140mm AIO water cooler, Ryzen 5 3600XT, ROG STRIX B550-I motherboard, Corsair Vengeance RAM, Nvidia 2080 graphics, 2x500MB NVMe SSD.
I’m open to any tips that could work without spending much money.
Keep the 3600X running smoothly using the AMD stock cooler. If it overheats when using an AIO, either the pump inside the AIO is faulty or you should reattach the cooler properly. I recommend trying the latter first. Make sure the pump is connected and plugged into the right header before proceeding. Power down the machine, remove the AIO cool plate from the CPU, wipe away the thermal paste, verify the plastic was correctly installed during setup, then reinstall with new thermal paste (any inexpensive brand works).
Hi! You tried it over the weekend and temperatures stayed normal, which is good. Thanks for the advice. Regarding the fan noise, I can still hear them spinning, but I’ll test their speed later. I’m not sure if that means they’re not working properly. For the connection part, I’m pretty confident it’s fine since this seems like a newer problem. I’ve had this PC since late 2020.
Absolutely, the team isn't commenting on the pump's condition. The next step should be examining its RPM.
Disconnect the fans from the AIO and press your finger on the pump. If there are no vibrations, the pump may be stuck or non-functional. Also, check if the tubes near the CPU block feel different temperatures—should one be warmer than the other? If not, the fluid circulation might be off.
Thanks for the feedback. I checked the pump and it appears to be functioning properly according to the BIOS (reference image provided). However, Sawa Takahashi noted I can't clearly tell which side is hotter, both seeming at room temperature to my basic understanding—possibly that's the case?

From the photos it seems air might be stuck in the pump. That’s an unusual thought, but you could attempt to flip the case upside down while idling and check after five minutes. My preference leans toward the AIO becoming blocked or stopped.
