I usually turn it off, but my power button is actually designed that way. It keeps happening most of the time. I managed to boot back up once, but when RAM was on, it stayed on even after editing. I tried to post a thread on ASUS support, but I just made an account and it won’t let me in. Could anyone help by opening a discussion to see if they know about this problem and if there’s a fix planned?
I face the same challenge again. My Asus Dark Hero, r9 5950x, 3080 ti, RM1000x PSU. There are already many discussions on their forum about this issue. Since an RMA won't solve it as it's a common problem, we should highlight awareness so we can get a response from Asus about potential fixes. They keep suggesting changes—maybe the RAM is the issue. I’m certain about it. As mentioned earlier (#2 post), I don’t own the Dark Hero. Like you, I have the Crosshair VIII Hero Wi-Fi, and I’ve been facing this problem since around December. I’ve updated my BIOS at least four times, hoping each fix will resolve the issue. =( Are all participants in this discussion using a 3000-series GPU? It might be worth checking that first... I’m really considering bringing back my 2070-Super to test if the problem persists for a week.)

I upgraded the graphics card using the new board from an RTX 2080S. Perhaps I’ll swap the 3080 with the 2080 to see how it performs. It won’t boot immediately after sleep, but I can restart within about 30 minutes. No issues if I wake it up soon after. But... I haven’t tried multiple sleep/wake cycles in quick succession, so it’s uncertain.
Asus support recommended turning on ErP. If that didn’t help, I should take out the battery, put it back in the socket for at least a minute without powering up the PC, then reinsert it properly and try again. If that fails, I’ll perform a CMOS reset. It seems like you’ve probably tried these steps before.
Activated ErP with the same S4+S5 configuration Xairoo suggested. Will share updates soon. Hope it works! (I was really hoping to skip the DDU and swapping my 3080 for the 2070-S.)
Don't worry, give it a short rest. You had to power down the power supply temporarily.
