basically the situation is this... I modified my R9 270X to run at 1225 and 1510 MHz. It was having issues and instability problems. I lowered the clock speed a bit, then checked if GTA would work. It still kept crashing, freezing completely, and then nothing happened. I tried opening AMD driver by right-clicking the desktop, but it wouldn’t appear, so I think the crashes are because the driver stopped responding.
I decided to try the 16.11 amd crimson driver. After using DDU, it asked me to go into safemode and I clicked fine... Then everything trying to enter safemode would hang while AMDKMPFD loaded the driver. Now I notice some screen corruption and artifacts during startup, and this happens consistently every time it boots. It doesn’t seem random.
What’s odd is that it can run for hours without issues but shows these symptoms. Anyone else had a similar problem?

Taking the battery out also removes the CMOS setting.

Does GTAV function as expected on other systems? If yes, the problem lies with the game itself. If not, the issue is likely related to the graphics card.

What you're referring to is what happens if GTA behaves differently on other systems. I was curious about whether the boot process would reveal any issues with the onboard graphics card. I opened BIOS, turned on the PCI for onboard first, and activated the onboard graphics, but it won't start anymore. I attempted a reset by unplugging the power supply and leaving it off for over five minutes, but it still doesn't boot. It gets stuck in startup mode without reaching the BIOS. Fml man

I still plan to attempt updating the BIOS or switching to Windows 10, hoping it will resolve any issues before giving up on my R9 270x. I’m determined not to think it will fail so easily despite all the overclocking precautions I’ve taken. It’s clear it’s voltage-locked, and neither Furmark nor any artifacts would appear. These demanding stress tests should give way with a failing GPU? How can I get it to boot?

Are there any video ports available for onboard use? If yes, connect the monitor to the motherboard and attempt the process again.

I really don't know if the Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 has a video port. I'm checking if the motherboard includes one, even though the processor has built-in graphics. But it seems like it won't boot properly. Maybe looking at pictures on Google could help identify the port? :<

I wonder if it's feasible to launch or start the machine without a graphics card in place. I thought about removing it to reduce dust and wondered if it might switch to its built-in graphics when attempting to boot.
