Hello, I just set up a new PC and am having trouble with BIOS configurations. I noticed the default RAM speed is always 2133MHz, even though I installed 32GB of 3200MHz RAM. After following some online guides and adjusting settings in Advanced Mode, Extreme Tweaker, and Ai Overclock Tuner, I changed the XMP profile to match the initial specs. However, when checking in EzMode, the DRAM status still shows both RAM sticks at 2133MHz instead of the expected 3200MHz. The XMP setting is marked as enabled, but I’m unsure why the actual speeds don’t reflect what I set. Could you help me understand these BIOS settings better? Thanks!

Did you restart after updating the XMP settings? The system must reboot to adjust memory speed.

I performed it. The EZMOD page still displays 2133mhz.

Activate the XMP profile. Navigate to the end of the BIOS and click save then exit. The system should restart automatically. Open the BIOS settings and verify your saved configuration. Your CPU is an Intel dual-channel model, and for ASUS boards, a slight overclocking is acceptable. The labels correspond to your two RAM sticks in the kit. -------A--------- ------B---------- ----------A------

i9 9900k processor from Asus Rog Maximus XI Hero. Added two RAM sticks in the second and fourth slots (counting from the left near the CPU). Was I done correctly? I watched a YouTube tutorial but don’t know the answer.

You also have a Z390 chipset with an 8086k CPU. Your RAM is positioned in the farthest slot from the CPU cooler, with no RAM available nearby. Is your RAM designed to exceed 2133 MHz? The RAM speed will be limited by its slowest component.

Your RAM is indeed 3200MHz, but the BIOS and DRAM status display seems inconsistent. The EzMode screen shows XMP enabled for DDR4-3200, which is correct. However, the DRAM status lists 2133MHz for each stick, which doesn’t match your spec. Check the RAM manufacturer’s documentation or use a tool like MemTest86 to verify the actual speeds. The photos you attached might help clarify which model you're using.

this was after you saved your settings, and the pc auto restarted right? it was still enabled? test in cpuz or similar if you have an os on your system. if.it reads as the speed may be a bios bug. i'd check on my aystem but no os yet and again, i can't oc.

I turned on 'XMP' and it adjusted my RAM to 3200, displaying 'XMP DDR4-3200'. After saving and restarting the PC, it still shows 'XMP DDR4-3200' as saved. In the attached photo, under 'DRAM Status', both RAM sticks list 2133MHz. This is unusual—shouldn’t one stick show the updated MHz while the other remains unchanged? It seems inconsistent.
