PC powers on and then shuts off twice in succession.
These issues I encounter occasionally aren't very common. Usually, when I press the power button, the PC turns on, then immediately shuts off again, only to come back on before turning off once more. Sometimes I try changing the adapter for the PSU cable and after a few attempts it works, but yesterday I faced the same problem. After trying my usual fix by changing the adapter, I became very concerned. Later, I searched online for similar problems and found that sometimes the power or reset button can get stuck. Today I pressed the reset button (which I don’t use much) when the PC was off, then turned it on and it worked properly. I believe it might have been a short circuit involving the power or reset button. What do you think?
Full system specifications available. Brand and model of the PSU included.
I also face this problem, have noticed it for the last few months. Around six months ago I replaced my power supply unit and think it might be the cause. I haven’t used the reset button yet, but I’m definitely going to try it. My setup includes a Superflower 80+ Gold 850 watt PSU, Gigabyte B550 M.2 motherboard, i9 9900kf processor, 32 GB 26000mhz RAM, and an RTX 3060 Ti. About once a week I power on the PC and it shuts off after two seconds before restarting again. Sometimes it happens 4 or 5 times before it boots normally. Today the issue returned, but after rebooting it worked properly. Now that I’m in BIOS, everything is functioning correctly.
