Fascinating... I already asked one of my friends to borrow his old power supply (it's a 1000W Corsair PSU, no clue why he switched it but I'm not complaining) so I can test things out. I'll swap it out and keep this update if I resolve the issue. Thanks for your time and advice.
my gpu is connected with two different cables... regarding the extension, my psu arrived without certain cables in the box; the 24 pin and gpu cables were all absent. i didn’t notice much then since i had purchased replacement "custom" white cables. now i’m wondering if this suggested a problem with my psu. i’d easily spot an amazon rma for a faulty psu, but not seeing any obvious issue, i’ve considered reselling it. additionally, i’m using all the old prerouted cables elsewhere because during my upgrade i didn’t change the case, so i just installed the new psu—maybe that wasn’t the right move.
Confirm the compatibility of the vintage cables with the latest power supply unit.
I'm currently testing my friend's PSU after swapping every cable... I've been using a party on Discord Baldur's Gate 3 all day without any issues. It's still early to confirm it's fixed, but it seems like a solid beginning. I can't believe it only worked in the game. Thanks everyone, I'll keep checking updates!
Sadly, the issue is coming back again. It's been two days without a shutdown from the PC while playing, but now it's happening once more. It seems the PSU isn't the problem—though I'm still unsure if the old one was perfect. Every test works fine for all components, yet the PC randomly shuts down only during playback. I'm considering a light Windows reset, but I'm not sure it will help. If anyone has any suggestions, I really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
Additionally, I wonder if the issue might stem from the well-known "SCEP Certificate enrollment initialization for Local system" via the provided link. I haven’t found any resolution on any forum for this. Another concern is that my GPU appears to be functioning normally despite being used. There are signs it may have been exposed to humidity, possibly affecting the metal fins—could this be causing the problem specifically in the game? Also, please note the issue seems intermittent; I recall periods without shutdowns lasting a month, with no changes made, including playing the same game like Sekiro, and I went from having daily crashes to none.
