I noticed this with the online multiplayer side of the Halo MCC and Halo Infinite, where I nearly empty entire clips by the time I kill one person, but that same person can literally kill me in two-three shots. I understand that a lot of this has to do with skill, whether or not if I'm pulling a Leroy Jenkins manuver or if I'm sticking with my team like I'm supposed to, whether or not I'm 'doing the dance' when going toe to toe with someone, etc. But from skills aside, this is a consistant issue and I hear other folks I play with complain about the same issue. Usually this type of conversation goes towards 'how well is my internet connecton'. Well, according to speedtest.net, my internet connection is this: Ping: 19ms Download: 122.01 Mbps Upload: 8.87 Mbps My keyboard/mouse are not wireless, so no lag there. I got 64gb of RAM, i910850k CPU(watercooled), and an RTX 3090(and it doesn't overheat when I'm playing Halo) So anyone else know what's going on here? And don't tell me that "it's because I suck" lol. I'm not complaining, I'm simply curious. I'm enjoying the hell out of Halo Infinite multiplayer despite this issue. I'm only curious about this.

Well, your upload quality isn't great and their retention rate is higher because at that pace, due to the game's fluctuating speeds, hit records aren't consistently logged. This issue occurred a decade ago when I struggled with 250/25; it mostly resolved then but worsened with 300/60. I'd say a minimum of 50 upload is needed. Since they provide fiber optic speeds of 1 Gbps both ways, I've used it for about seven years now when they expanded in my area. I'm surprised these speeds are still available unless you're in a remote spot or using satellite. My LTE is 150/150 near the antenna but usually averages around 50/50. Also, verify your play server location. I experienced some lag when multiple players fired 15 bullets simultaneously and registered at the same time, along with some chaotic chat from another player. I was frustrated more than I felt lucky during those moments. Nowadays, it seems the balance has shifted significantly.

From my experience with infinite (plat 3), headshots really matter. A BR can take out a target in about two shots—roughly half a burst—if the shields are active, but a body shot usually requires two or three full bursts. The AR performance is also solid, delivering accurate frames; I often need a few clips to finish a kill while I can land 2 or 3 hits.

Another factor to think about is your monitor's refresh rate, which can indicate how precise your gameplay is in high-speed FPS titles.

Curious about improving your speed in Halo Infinite? Trying to hit the head could help you take down shields quicker, especially if you're sure someone's shields are vulnerable.

They'll follow the same path when targeting the head over body. HS only count for 1sk weapons with shields on. I'd concentrate on BR skill—it really breaks down here. Including teamshotting helps, and the TTK is extremely low. Also try it if you haven't already.
