High-end system with 1300w power supply, 13900kHz clock speed, 7900xtx chipset, 64GB RAM. Usage is around 75% of memory even when idle. Mouse movement lags during Discord or web browsing. No single program uses excessive RAM, but many background processes run with Service Host. It seems possible something unusual is running.

I've checked scans using Windows Defender. Could there be a more effective solution?

hmm, well i downloaded it and gave it a go. One thing is, it doesn't seem like it takes very long to do a scan; I suspect it's not doing a very thorough scan. I wonder if there is a default setting i need to change somewhere.
