I've set up my PC and encountered problems with game performance and speed. Occasionally, games freeze—especially Elden Ring—which frustrates me. Could this be due to an installation error? I have a liquid CPU cooler, but I’m not sure it’s the issue. Storage is ample, pagefile settings are automatic, no background viruses or high-priority services, Superfetch is off, and Avast AV is running. The GPU is an Nvidia RTX 3060, CPU a Ryzen 7 5800X, with ROG STRIX B550-A components, 16GB SSD, and 1TB drive. Any suggestions?

It might have triggered an overclock or boost feature on the motherboard. EldenRing runs on a single-core design, so your system could have engaged PBO or similar enhancements that boost single-core performance without affecting the 1Core workload. I don’t own an AMD build, but this is what I’d expect based on the tech boards try to unlock.

Observing a lot of porn might mean Avast is the first thing you check. Ensure Avast links each game separately to block them. Are you confirming all memory details in Windows? Is this your first install or have you used the system for a while? Has anything recently altered this situation?
