PC performance issues after reinstalling Windows 10
Hello.
Last week I performed a system reset, but after that most games I played—excluding light ones—still experienced lag. A restart usually helps, though it doesn’t resolve the issue because the lag returns after some time. We didn’t record FPS drops, but we noticed performance falling to around 10 or 20 frames per second, whereas at the beginning of gameplay there were no problems. I think the drivers are up to date (downloaded from the seller’s sites). The affected titles are Dark Souls Remasted and Dark Souls 3, both showing similar issues. Power mode is set to High Performance. I adjusted the settings of both games, but I have enough resources for the first one and just enough for the second. I didn’t encounter these problems before the reset, so the solution might be elsewhere. Could hardware degradation be the cause? Any way to verify that? I’ve heard leaving the PC running for a few nights could let Windows fix itself. If anyone can confirm or suggest another approach, I’d appreciate it. Thanks.
