So as the main point indicates, I'm dealing with three separate challenges at once. Great! I'm hoping someone can help with any of these. First, my CPU temperatures have risen noticeably—especially during rendering tasks. Previously, a 1-hour video took about 35 minutes to render, but now it's taking closer to 45 minutes. The temperature spikes to around 80-85°C while rendering, compared to about 55°C when idle. My specs are listed at the bottom. I'm curious if improved cooling could help restore normal speeds. I've heard throttling might occur above 95°C, but I'm not sure if that's the case here. I recently updated Windows 10 and rolled it back, which might have contributed. I also tried an Elgato 4K60 PRO with PCIe 4.0 slot, but it caused occasional freezing during gameplay recordings. Other fixes I attempted include updating drivers, cleaning dust, and updating BIOS. Still no clear solution. Thanks if you can offer any guidance!

The strict throttling at 95°C follows Intel guidelines. Ryzen chips tend to handle GPU temperatures better than frequency changes. Since performance was stable before, reapply thermal paste and verify your cooler’s fan is functioning. Enhanced cooling will likely improve Ryzen results more than on Intel, especially with Precision Boost active. You can also adjust BIOS settings on most systems to make PBO more aggressive. For the GPU side, try using DDU to uninstall display drivers and remove any Elgato software. I’ve also observed a minor boot-to-login delay on my Pascal card, possibly due to recent driver updates.

For your Wraith Prime, switching to a cooler like Noctua D15 could help, but it depends on what you need most—speed or stability. Some people say temps are mainly about long-term health, while others believe they do matter for performance. Right now, you care more about smooth video editing than extra speed. If you’re not overclocking and cooling is still helping, it might be enough. The PBO thing isn’t a big deal unless you’re into advanced tuning. For the GPU, DDU is a tool, not a program. With Elgato, the freezing and wallpaper issues seem linked to setup problems or hardware conflicts—try resetting them or checking connections.

Before this model, I used BeQuiet! Pure Rock 2, which had similar temps (7-10°C). Regarding the wallpaper, it seems unusual—possibly background services or unknown processes are causing issues.
