Hello, I'm just starting out with PC building. When I power on my machine it gets too hot, often exceeding 100°C, and it shuts itself off. This happens only at the first start of the day. After turning it off and restarting, everything works fine. Stress tests show it stays under 70°C and can run games for a few hours without problems. I've owned this system for two years, but the overheating started just last month. I replaced my original cooler with a Corsair water cooler and added two Noctua fans, bringing the total to four water-cooled fans for my CPU model (Intel 5600, GTX 3070, 3070MB).

Do you need help with the thermal paste or checking if the plastic cover is still attached to your PC?

We took out the cooler and everything is working properly (sticker removed, paste applied evenly). It handles games and stress tests well, with temperatures reaching up to 70°C. The problem appears to be excessive overheating during the first startup of the day (temperatures above 100°C).

Are you certain the AIO pump wire is connected to the right header? (I’m not sure... but I think there’s likely a particular one that starts up sooner for the AIO pump...and I’m guessing you’re using a board with power fed later in the boot process?) ...after some research it seems most modern boards have a dedicated AIO pump header. [terms like PUMP or AIO_PUMP might help] Could you share more details about the motherboard? I’m seeing at least two searches for B450 DS3H and B650 DS3H... though honestly I only notice a CPU_FAN-specific header on either of those.

I encountered a problem with my Gigabyte board where the CPU fan wouldn’t turn on after a cold start. It seems the issue hasn’t been resolved. I’m leaning toward your pump not powering up at all on first boot, but it does when you reset it. I won’t consider Gigabyte again. Their BIOS seems unreliable. When you run the 100°C test, go into BIOS and verify your pump speed.
