PC operates only if the CPU remains connected to the power source
Yesterday my PC functioned properly then this morning after pressing the power button nothing occurred. Later I discovered that disconnecting the 4+4 connector on the CPU power slot caused all lights and fans to activate, though I’m still unsure what’s wrong. After checking online, some suggest it might be related to the PSU or motherboard, but I don’t have spare parts to test. Any advice would be appreciated.
Power for the board when the CPU loses its electricity. MOBO seems unlikely to be the issue—it might be the power supply, which is useful for testing other components but not something you'd typically swap around. Have you considered reattaching the CPU or replacing the PSU?
Review the connections on the plugs. A person recently visited who had a pin absent in one port.
I haven't attempted reapplying my CPU yet, but it might not hurt to give it a try.
I purchased a different motherboard (the same one I already owned) and everything is turning on, but the CPU indicator on the board is blinking. I’ve checked reseating the CPU, RAM, and GPU, yet it still won’t boot. I’m considering replacing the CPU and adding more RAM to see if that resolves the issue. Any other tips or ideas would be helpful?
