I own a system with 5900x, 3080, 32GB RAM and running Windows 11. At this stage, the machine has been an issue since purchase. Periodically, performance drops noticeably, audio becomes distorted and stretched, as if slowed down. These issues last only a short time before normalizing. Temperature remains unaffected under heavy use, with CPU and GPU temperatures reaching around 60°C.

BIOS version included for your motherboard. PSU age provided, excluding its model and service duration.

Open Task Manager to check resource-heavy applications or processes. Temperature remains normal under load (CPU and GPU max out around 60°C).

CPU: 5900x
Motherboard: x570s aorus pro ax
Memory: 32GB RAM
Storage: Windows installed on a 1TB NVME SSD
GPU: 3080
Power Supply: CORSAIR 850W RMx
Case: CORSAIR 5000D
Operating System: Windows 11 home
The BIOS version listed in system info is 3.3. The PSU was brand new at the time of purchase, meaning only a short period of use. I rarely check the task manager because it only opens for a few seconds and everything appears fine by then. It seems to occur during browsing or Discord, but becomes more obvious while gaming.

Hi Ian,
Sometimes the issue isn’t as complex as we assume. Give these easy solutions a try, and you might find your problem resolved.
Troubleshoot Windows 11 Performance
Change power settings
Disable transparency effects
Optimize Windows 11 for better performance
Turn off startup apps
Close background applications
Remove temporary files
Activate Storage Sense
Defragment the hard drive
Let me know if these steps help. Cheers!

I've looked into Task Manager during cases of system hangs, which I also encounter often. System interrupts occasionally consume 100% CPU.
