It might relate to how well your motherboard matches the CPU. If so, consider resetting the CMOS by inserting a metal object between the two pins (check which pins require this). If this doesn’t help, you may need to upgrade the BIOS and think about using an older CPU that fits your current BIOS version.

Hey the motherboard supports this CPU, there shouldn't be any need to do this but I'll try. Thx

same with my mother board, but after trying some things I discovered the drivers for the motherboard had to be updated to function properly with the CPU.

I also noticed that some are asking if it's feasible to refresh without a new CPU. I haven't been able to find one anytime soon. This machine isn't right for me.

I'll take a closer look; it could simply require clearing the CMOS, so I'll also verify that.

I don't have a jumper for my CMOS, any alternative? This is using completely new components. I don't believe I'll need to reset it.

I just discovered this and went to the end, it's my CPU, an AMD Athlon X4 950.

you can utilize a paper clip, press the two pins on it and it should work fine, a great idea to try since you can't predict outcomes.
