PC not booting at 1733MHz. What's going on?
They've mentioned likely any Ryzen CPU can handle a 1800MHz clock speed easily. High-end models reach 1900 or even 1933 if you're very fortunate. My system doesn't exceed 1767 MHz on the FCLK, and it struggles to go above 1733 MHz in Windows. This seems odd and not very reliable. Thank you for sharing your PC details: Ryzen R5 3600 B450 Tomahawk Max Adata 4133MHz 19 19 19 B Die RX 5700X.
Your clock frequency should match half the RAM speed, not 2133mhz. Are you referring to a 2133 MHz RAM instead of a different value?
Could you clarify the voltage levels involved? What configuration are you using for the memory? I’m trying to understand more details, but your recent answers were quite general.
It's using a 4133mhz RAM, which is the XMP setting. I'm running it at 2666mhz, the default, and have the standard timing values set in the BIOS. Basically, everything looks good—CPU is stock, voltages are at 1.12v, 1.45v, VDDG CCD/IOD at 1.05v. The clock speed is stable at 1733MHz but drops to 1766MHz when it fails. I'm planning to adjust the post and share the screenshots shortly.
Essentially I was attempting to boost my RAM speed, aiming for 3800MHz with a 1900MHz clock, which is quite challenging. The system doesn’t even reach 3600MHz at 1800MHz FCLK 1700. It stabilizes at higher clock speeds like 1800 but without the FCLK beyond 1733. I’m currently running at 2666MHz using default timings, and I’ll share a screenshot of the BIOS settings later. TL;DR – CPU is stock, I tried adjusting voltage and timing, but still can’t hit 1733 MHz reliably.
I purchased the premium RAM for its superior quality and expected tighter timings at a suitable Ryzen RAM speed of 3200-3800 MHz. Hmm, could you clarify more about MCLK? I saw a setting mentioning 1:1 or 1:2 with memclk, but I couldn't locate the MCLK value. Is MCLK the same as the main frequency? Your posted settings images are helpful!
The Infinity Fabric is basically Hyper Transport technology. You don’t have to keep IF and Memory tightly connected. You can separate them and still work with the memory overclock. I believe you’re aiming to boost the IF, but the jump from 1733 to 1800 shouldn’t be a major concern. Most of the improvement comes from memory bandwidth rather than the numbers themselves.
Sure thing! Here’s a revised version keeping things clear and organized:
Updates per post are welcome—just avoid the original first entry. Setting timings manually will be key. B-Die, Grade A? Let's aim for CL 16-16-16-16-36-58 (flexible). Trfc likely accepts around 600. 1T-CR 1.40v from 3200–3600mhz (higher with more voltage) should work fine. (Hopefully) Also, turn off PowerDown mode.

I believed the Infinity Fabric was set at 1800 stock, which matches what my unit shows when it's new. @Xx_osos_xX have you experimented with XMP RAM to 3600 and tried adjusting the Flk to 1800? Do you use Ryzen Master? Your setup seems unchanged. Could be a misunderstanding on my part.
