Good evening everyone, I’m facing a persistent problem where I need to turn off my PS5, which is linked to my PC through a capture card (MK2 4K60). After a short while, the PC becomes unresponsive and everything keeps buffering as if it’s trying to connect to the internet. I’m not sure how to fix this—it’s been happening for years.

Several factors might be involved. Your computer's specifications could help, though I believe drivers are the key issue. Have you looked for any driver updates recently?

Check your capture card for the newest firmware and drivers on the Elgato site. Open Windows Device Manager, find your capture card in the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" or "Sound, video and game controllers" area, right-click it, choose "Properties," then navigate to the "Power Management" section. If the box says "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power," remove it.

Leave the PS5 plugged in first, then power it off. The capture card name will be useful for further assistance. Hope you're using two identical cards—one for video and one for capture!
