Hello,
My computer is around four years old and has been stable until recently when it began freezing. A few weeks ago it froze and wouldn’t boot past POST. When I pressed the power button, fans spun, lights came on, but there was no keyboard or display, then it shut down repeatedly. I reset the CMOS a couple of times before it worked again.

Last week, the same issue occurred except resetting the CMOS didn’t help. I disconnected everything from the motherboard and it kept looping. Only after switching to a different power socket did it start working. I managed to reset my PC and reinstall Windows.

Now it runs for about 10–20 minutes before freezing consistently each time. Could you help identify which component might be faulty so I can address the problem? Thanks in advance.

ASROCK Z390 Phantom Gaming 4
Intel® Core i7-9700F | 4.7 GHZ | 8 cores
NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2070 SUPER 8GB GDDR6
16GB DDR4 3200 Mhz Memory (2x8GB | Dual Channel)
600W FSP / EVGA PSU

Replace the CMOS battery. A low or dead battery can lead to unexpected restarts and booting issues.

What specific power supply do you possess? The EVGA FSP models tend to be among their least reliable.

I'm not confident yet since I haven't removed the PSU or seen it from outside the chassis. Would it lead to freezing? I've tried all software fixes and everything checked out. If the motherboard is fixed, it might not even start.

I would likely suspect the PSU first.
600/700w was standard a long time ago, and more recent models range from 650w to 750w...
The best way to confirm is to swap it with a reliable PSU that meets the required capacity.
Try borrowing one if possible to test.
If not, order a replacement from a store offering a solid return policy.
Be prepared for a 15% return charge if necessary.
Consider purchasing a 750/850w unit, which is suitable for future GPU upgrades or builds.
A high-quality replacement should come with at least a 7-year warranty.

Hello, your recent PSU change might be contributing to the issue. There could be other factors at play. Additionally, adjusting the SATA ports helped you get a boot, but you still didn't progress beyond the loading screen.
