I've encountered some issues with my desktop. Whenever I attempt to connect Bluetooth speakers, it displays a connected status and claims music is playing, yet no audio emerges from the speakers. It seems like a driver or software problem, but regardless of what I try, it doesn't function properly. Initially, I assumed the issue was with my soundbar, but connecting other speakers and headphones also resulted in failures. However, when using those same devices with my laptop or phone, everything works correctly, including the auxiliary cable connection, though this Bluetooth problem persists. My PC appears to interpret my soundbar as a pair of headphones, which is puzzling.

None of your PC specifications are relevant. Understanding the Bluetooth adapter you're using and the model of your soundbar would provide more clarity. Regarding why it appears as a pair of headphones, that's simply how Windows categorizes it—it treats it as a Bluetooth audio device rather than a soundbar or headphones. It only changes its display when a built-in microphone is present, at which point Windows labels it as a headset. You can change the device name in the Sound Settings on Windows.

It might also be that the audio program you're using needs to be launched after connecting via Bluetooth, and if you start it beforehand, it could cause confusion. In such cases, restarting the application may resolve the issue.

Have you explored the integrated Windows troubleshooters? They might help identify and resolve issues.
Also, right-click the small speaker icon usually located in the lower right corner of the screen.
This action will display a menu offering various audio-related options, windows, properties, and settings.
Begin by browsing carefully without altering anything at first.
Document any discrepancies you notice so you can revisit later and investigate further if needed.
Modify just one element at a time, ensuring you note the original and new versions and the location of each change.
Give yourself time between adjustments; some modifications may require a restart.

The Windows Troubleshooter seems ineffective, just like it was in the 90s. I attempted to run the command scripts, but they couldn't identify any issues. I'm beginning to suspect a problem with my motherboard.
