PC limited to 200 Mbps speed
Hello, I'm trying to figure out why my PC isn't connecting to Gigabit Ethernet properly. It works fine when plugged in wirelessly, but not when wired. I've changed cables, used different ones, even made a custom Gig port, but nothing seems to work. I suspect there might be an issue with the Ethernet port itself. Have you confirmed it's open to a network? Any advice would be really helpful. Thanks!
Regarding the opposite side, the other LAN port at that location? With a device having a 1Gb/sec connection, you can always establish a direct link and use the Windows sharing feature to test data transfers via TCP/IP.
If the problem lies with the cable or port, you’d probably face connectivity issues or be limited to 100 Mbps. The limitation comes from needing only four of the eight wires for 100 Mbps, but all eight are required for higher speeds. It seems there might be an issue with Windows.
