Okay so, the base issue is as the title describes. When running any heavy load game his PC will black out, no blue screen or other indicators. Specs are: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 using the included stock cooler Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite AX RAM: 2x16 GSkill Trident Z Neo - Running dual channel Storage: Intel 655p Series 2280 1tb M.2 SSD GPU: AMD Radeon 6750Xt Obviously, the glaring issue seems to be the PSU, which as I discovered was some no-brand Newegg post. Obviously recommended him a new EVGA 750w 80+ Gold PSU even if that thing somehow isn't the problem. However what concerns me a bit is that for some reason during play, even with aggressive fan curves set manually using MSI Afterburner, the temperature of the CPU skyrockets. This was alleviated some by running a power saver power plan through windows however the CPU still experiences aggressive spikes in heat. So far as I'm aware the cooler is mounted properly so I do not believe the cooler to be the issue. Another thing to note is that GPU heat remains around 70 degrees with no sporadic issues. I would very much appreciate some insight on this issue. Although I dabble in computer builds I have not encountered something like this before and would appreciate feedback from this community regarding the issue.

PSU and RAM speed? Kernel error 41 can stem from software issues, not just hardware problems.

I don’t have the exact RAM details, but since the power supply has no brand labels and the RAM modules came in a dual set, it’s unlikely they’re mismatched unless there was some mix-up during assembly. This could affect performance if the RAM isn’t compatible or properly seated.

Yeah most likely PSU. Ram speed is unlikely, unless unstable in some way. If DOCP is enabled, try disabling that. I have had kernel 41 error in the past where it wasn't PSU related, but related to overclock settings in bios.

DOCP isn't set to turn on automatically. You'll need to verify it yourself. The CPU core still runs at 4.2GHz max, which is typical for boost clocks, but BIOS adjustments could contribute to temperature fluctuations.

Generally yes. Verify RAM is in slots A2 and B2. Temperature rises are typical for 3600. Ensure PBO is configured to auto unless specified otherwise.

He mentioned they were configured on A1 and B1, but I’ll ask him to confirm tomorrow. Regarding temperature spikes, under heavy load he can handle a 10-12°C increase and still reach up to 85°C even with aggressive fan settings. That seems typical for a 3600. I might suggest moving him to a 5600 if that’s the situation.

He's running the stock cooler, which causes PBO to automatically overclock the CPU. Changing the thermal paste could provide some improvement. Lack of ambient temperature data isn't useful. I'd just inspect the entire build. This seems to be a first-time setup.
